AC Milan Monitoring Gabriel Jesus Ahead of Potential January Loan Move

AC Milan are reportedly tracking Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus as the Brazilian makes his return from a long-term knee injury. The Serie A club are exploring the possibility of a January loan deal, though financial limitations may complicate any potential move. Jesus recently returned to competitive action after almost a year sidelined with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Jesus made his first appearance since January in Arsenal’s Champions League match against Club Brugge, coming off the bench for the final half-hour. He followed that with a Premier League appearance on Saturday as he continues to rebuild match fitness.

Reflecting on his comeback, Jesus told Arsenal.com that returning to the pitch was a major relief after nearly a year of recovery. He acknowledged the doubts he faced during the early months of rehabilitation but expressed satisfaction with how his body has responded.

“For 11 months I was scared I might return with limitations,” Jesus said. “Just being able to come back, touch the ball, move well, and play with the team again makes me very happy. I feel more than ready.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta welcomed the Brazilian’s return and highlighted the qualities he brings to the squad.

“He connects everyone around him,” Arteta said. “He has a special energy and quality that makes the team better. It has been a difficult journey for him, so seeing him return with confidence is fantastic for all of us.”

AC Milan Interested in January Loan Deal

According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan are considering a loan approach for Jesus in the upcoming window as they assess options to strengthen their attack. A permanent transfer is not feasible for the Italian side due to financial constraints, while a loan may also prove challenging given Jesus’ current salary.

The forward reportedly earns around €16 million gross per year at Arsenal — a figure beyond Milan’s wage structure. Despite this, the Serie A club continue to monitor the situation, particularly as they deal with their own injury issues and look to add depth for the second half of the season.

Jesus, meanwhile, may be seeking more regular minutes as he aims to secure a place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Competition for minutes at Arsenal includes Viktor Gyökeres and the versatile Mikel Merino, which could influence the player’s thinking if opportunities remain limited.

Former Arsenal Players Discuss Jesus’ Future

Last month, former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn addressed speculation regarding potential January departures, including Gabriel Jesus. Speaking with BetBrain via GOAL, Winterburn stated he does not expect Arsenal to sanction mid-season exits for key squad members.

“Jesus is a terrific option for the team,” Winterburn said. “I don’t see any important players leaving in January. Perhaps next season things may change, but for now I expect Arteta will want the full squad available.”

Arsenal’s Upcoming Fixtures

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points after a narrow win over Wolves. Arteta’s side will next face Everton on December 20 as they look to maintain momentum heading into the festive period.
